Moss is a common problem in gardens for a variety of reasons. It can give the lawn an uneven colour and feel spongy to walk on.

Thoroughly watering these granules in is a must. This either means applying just before a lot of heavy rain is forecast, or putting in the work to water the lawn for several days after application. Pets and children should be kept off the lawn until the granules are completely dissolved. A lot of moss on the lawn will look patchy and spongy, it won’t give you the smooth, well-groomed lawn that you’re after. We drew up a schedule of when to apply the feeds. For each product, we carefully followed the instructions for the dosage and how frequently it should be applied. If the instructions suggested a range of frequency – for example, every seven to 10 days – we chose the lower figure. Who knew that seaweed was the vital ingredient missing from our lawns? In some cases, a second application might be required to catch any persevering weeds, but seeing as one container holds enough product to cover an area of roughly 100 m², there should be enough for several subsequent applications.
