About this deal

This spin off series is no different, I’ve really enjoyed meeting new creatures in her world and I love the tie ins from the OG series and with the Lair of the Wolven series — I’ve seen some people b!tch that V has gone soft but seriously the dude has been through so much shit, can we please allow him that little bit of softness? His caring for Payne, for Butch, for Jane isn’t weakness and doesn’t detract from his badassness. I loved their role in this one, I won’t spoil the details but it was, in my opinion, a great way to honor V & Payne’s past and show their growth. Explaining the imprint’s name, Jewess said: “We wanted a name that had a strong link to Serpent’s Tail, but also hints at what the list is all about. It’s young, punchy, and as you’d expect, has a pretty high body count.” The core objective within ViperGas is to provide accurate technical information toregistered gas engineers and individuals undergoing qualification. I love the concept of the fights happening in the sea. Giving me all the pirate vibes. And the magic that is happening in the sea is amazing. I want more of those creatures. Once their differences were what drew them together, what turned them on. Him, the ex-army officer from a good family. Her, the fitness instructor who grew up over a pub. But now these differences grate to the point of drawing blood. Marc screams in his sleep. And Debs hardly knows the person she's become, or why she lets him hurt her. But despite that, I really enjoyed the world she had created. The different islands sounded divine and I really hope we get to see more of them in the next book. From what I understand, each island had a different purpose and I would definitely love to see that explored more in book 2. How each island contributes and how they might suffer if something happened. The Viper was amazing! There was an incredible build as the story unfolded, histories were learned, and details came to life. I loved all the drama and action and the truly remarkable characters. It was intense and entertaining all rolled into one. Exceptional read! Senior commissioning editor Miranda Jewess will launch a new crime imprint, Viper, in November with 20 titles for its inaugural year.

Kill Urself My Man" and "I Have the Best Piece and Chain Ever Made" are anomalies in Viper's discography, both released in the Viper spam album period of 2014 when he released 347+ albums. This dazzlingly clever cosy crime novel completely trumps Richard Osman. A modern Agatha Christie' - SUNDAY TIMES The characters are complex and incredibly detailed. They are interesting and exciting with vampires, wolven, and humans involved. Ward seemingly writes with a paintbrush as she details scenes and truly paints the picture in your head. One of the main issues I had with this book though was that I just didn’t care for the characters at all. Marianne was quite annoying with her constant moping over how terrible her father was and her inability to commit to anything. The love interest Bronn was dull as dishwater and had a predictable “I had to betray you to save you” storyline. The Prince she is betrothed to is, of course, squeaky clean and kind as a button. His faultless personality was boring and predictable. And I can’t even remember anyone else. There were a few other characters scattered around but they just filled stereotypical fantasy roles. Like the cruel father who was hiding a secret of her heritage (a secret that was made very obvious so it wasn’t much of a plot twist when it was finally revealed). A wild, twisted family gothic unlike any you've read before'– PAUL TREMBLAY, author of A HEADFUL OF GHOSTS RECOMMENDED: "9900 Haters On The Wall", "Boys Know", "I Wanna Blow Kill and Blast On Em'", "The Southwest Hooligan", "Hustlin' and Winnin'" The formeracquisitions and managing editor at Titan Books joined the company as senior commissioning editor for Serpent’s Tail Crime in February to commissiontitles across the crime, thriller, and suspense genres.
