About this deal

I'm glad I got the Big Bite for the times I need it, but there's no doubt that the regular Crop-a-Dile is the one I use 95% of the time, so unless you anticipate needing the extra reach, I'd definitely go for that. I'd get the big bite (I've got the original and use it fairly often) if you plan to use it just at home- they're pretty hefty to carry around. Features a 6" punching reach that allows you to punch and set the accents at the center of your 12" x 12" pages. As gale mentioned, the Crop-a-dile (regular or Big Bite) are most useful when needing to punch holes through thick material such as plastic, leather, tin or multiple pages. With the emergence of the wonderful art of scrapbooking and paper crafting, came the ever-increasing need for high quality, functional, and creative crafting products and tools.

When repeatedly punching holes with the Big Bite in a pattern, it is a little difficult to line up with precision. It would seem that due to the weight of the Big Bite (being sturdy) and on a flat surface, aligning would be easier. On another thread we were discussing brads and eyelets, and I happened to be setting some eyelets that weekend. In the video you can see the difference in the reach between the regular Crop A Dile and the Big Bite. I have so many favorite tools – this is another, the Crop-A-Dile Big Bite II by We R Memory Keepers. You could make a box where you put the ribbon inside and don’t use dowels, like those squishy clear ribbon boxes with the holes all over it. I got the Crop-a-dile right before the Big Bite came out, and I wish now that I hadn't because I can't justify getting the Big Bite.

Crop-A-Dile Big Bite Blue is the enhanced version of the Crop-A-Dile, reaching up to 6 inches, so you can punch and put eyelets anywhere in your papers and albums. To place an eyelet or a fastener, it must be placed under pressure using the central part of the tool. I have wondered how this works… I even picked one up at Hobby Lobby to purchase, but thought it looked super confusing and so put it back. Making sure the bits are at the correct setting was a challenge on the original and is the same design here.Released just a few months ago for the CHA Anaheim 2008 show, this product looked exciting and able to take on all the limitations that the Crop-a-dile faced. This tool saves me about 5 minutes because I can punch a small enough hole through all the layers at once rather than doing it with an awl. I am only a cardmaker but have all the stuff to scrapbook so if I do decide to do some, I have the tool!

Rotating setting blocks and action Setter help you do what you want to do without fumbling around for loose pieces. The lightweight tool comes with 340 gromlets in a variety of shapes and colours, plus a total of 12 designer gromlets in Frenzy and Party designs.it is still possible as you can see in the above photo where I stamped a backgrounder stamp and then embellished the design with eyelets. A popular theme on the scrapbooking market is manufacturers always trying to come up with great new eyelet setting tools. The demo videos for the Big Bite that I watched say you can see where the hole is going if you hold the thing in your hand and turn it upside down. I make bookmarks a lot, and it's so handy for punching the hole and adding an oversized eyelet on the end of the bookmark. In addition to complying with OFAC and applicable local laws, Etsy members should be aware that other countries may have their own trade restrictions and that certain items may not be allowed for export or import under international laws.

I have only the Big Bite because even though I'm a card maker, I wanted to be able to put an eyelet or punch a hole anywhere and so needed the longer throat. I love this tool, I loved the original but due to my dexterity issues did find spanning the two handles difficult. I think it would be a worthwhile investment, especially if you can get it with a good coupon and/or sale. The only problem is getting the holes far enough down that the box will close over the tops of your ribbon rolls.I cut a long, narrow “U” shape in a piece (my piece was 3″tallX4″wide) of foam board about halfway down the height of my photo box. I'm enjoying this new Crop-a-dile 2 Big Bite now that I've had some time to get used to the new format. Although the big bite can set eyelets into any previously punched hole, the hole punch section of the Big Bite will not go as shallow as the Original Crop_A-Dile.
