About this deal

Final step: enjoy all the compliments you are sure to receive, whether you are a natural, freshened-up ginger or a chosen ginger! Start applying! Try to avoid getting henna on parts of your hair that are pulled up — the parts that you’re not ready to put henna on yet. Henna can really tangle your hair up if you’re not intentionally trying to put it on a certain area. Note the word “natural” in that sentence. There are plenty of very UNnatural red hair dyes out there, but that wasn’t what I was looking for. I didn’t want to look like I’d dyed my hair; I just wanted to return it to the colour I was born with (or something like it, anyway), and which I’d been for my entire life, up until the dreaded fading started.

As I dried it I could see the gorgeous red shining through. It is vibrant and absolutely beautiful. I cannot stop looking at it. I have never had an experience like this in any salon. I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT. Consider your natural hair color. While true henna has a reddish, coppery tone, the color is translucent so it blends with your hair color. That means it won’t look the same on everyone. The lighter your natural hair color, the more vivid red your hair will be. With very dark hair, henna likely won’t impart much color, so you’ll just wind up with added shine. You can also add a dash of ginger, paprika, allspice, or nutmeg to bulk henna powder to increase the red (I prefer just basic red henna.) Ask the store clerk for colour suggestions and how much henna is appropriate for your hair length.Lush carries a variety of natural henna products which can be broken down into powder, available in the UKand US. I used to use pure henna, and it gives me color in the sun, I’d say a dark sparkly orange/brown. But I decided to try out this Wine red just because. OMG. RED RED RED!! It showed up as red, even in dim lighting! A dark sparkly red. Very beautiful! I love it! I bought more immediately! And my hair does feel softer and feels very healthy lately. I leave the henna in over-night. It’s pretty uncomfortable going to sleep wearing the shower cap, and make sure to sleep with a towel underneath your head if you try this! It may leak through the plastic and stain your sheets. And then i shower it off when I wake up. I’d say it’s in my hair around 8+ hours then. The color turns out wonderful whenever I do this.

Natural henna hair dye is found in the leaves of the Lawsonia inermis plant, and has been used by people in the Middle East and Asia for centuries. Mix your henna. I did this the night before and left it for around twelve hours before applying it onto my hair. I left it on our countertop at room temperature but it is recommended that you leave it to sit in a dark(ish) area. Henna comes in many shades from brown tones to strawberry blonde tones. You may need to try out different shades to find your desired hue. After a couple of years of hennaing my hair had gotten fairly dark and monotone, so I recently had some highlights put in (I have an Aveda stylist I love and she used a very mild bleach on me, leaving hardly any notable damage to my super baby-fine hair — yay!!). She put an auburn toner on me but it faded within like a week. So then it was time for more henna!

My hair doesn’t bind to color very well, but its ok. Be warned that a little bit of it will wash out in every hair wash. I have to wash my hair every alternate days, and the sparkle lasts about 2 weeks. After that, it’s still red, but just not as sparkly. Also, the color does rub off a little on your fingers. My fingers will get a slight orange tint whenever I braid my hair. My white towels I use on my hair also has a slight tint. But it washes out. I hooked so many people on henna. My naturally dry curly hair is so shiny and I use heat on it almost every day but I was able to grow my hair so long and keep it looking so good. Take your time! It takes me 30 mins for a full application to shoulder length hair and I have a lot of practice. Keep it on for the full 2 hours for the best result. The results are fantastic. My hair is darkened, a deep rich cherry red. My roots blend in so much more with the rest of my hair. I am especially pleased to achieve such great results considering I didn’t have to wait for dye release (usually a 3hour-overnight process itself) and the wait time on the head was only 2 hours (also can be 3 hours-overnight, yikes!) Also, with other brands, I found myself using the hair dryer to add heat every 15 minutes or so to bring out more red, but I didn’t need to do this to get great results with HCL henna. Mehndi or henna paste coats the hair cuticles and the colour of the henna will move to the hair shaft through the gaps in the cuticle. Henna dye will not alter the natural structure of the hair but rather conditions the scalp thus decreasing hair loss. The henna on the surface protects the hair from sun and pollution damage, thus leaving the hair healthy and shiny. Furthermore, a component of henna can help in covering the white and grey hairs. What are the things to consider in choosing Henna Hair Dye?Additionally, dying the beard using henna is considered sunnah in Islamic tradition – practices of the Islamic prophet Muhammad that are used as a model for Muslims to follow.

This was my second attempt ever to dye my hair. It was really messy. So messy that, as soon as I started putting it on my hair (and it went on my legs, on my arms and on my face), I swore that I would never do that ever again. Then, one hour and a half later, I looked at the color of my hair… And I understood that I was going to do it many many more times instead. It’s totally worth it, the color is AWESOME! I have medium brown hair, and the week before applying the henna I had already applied a different henna (lush caca rouge), which didn’t really make my hair red. It was just a bit lighter, I would say copper. Anyway, I was a bit scared of what could have happened. You know, orange hair and stuff. Instead, I was just amazed! The color is vivid red. It’s beautiful under the sun, and it looks very dark red when the light is not too much. I am just going to buy a lot of it! Just one suggestion: don’t put too much water. I am sure it would have been much less messy if it wasn’t so liquid. This was the first time i've used henna dye. In keeping with the titular promise, this produced a prime natural-looking warm red on me from my actually-natural ashy and uninspiring medium brown hair. To vivify the red, I mixed the henna paste with two bags of steeped red rooibos tea instead of coffee and added lavender essential oil, but otherwise followed the instructions. The color is lovely, a much-needed injection of depth, dimension, and follicular personality. I'm emboldened enough that next time i think i'll try mixing wine red and natural red for a slightly more intense shade. Thank you Henna Color Lab for a product that I am so over the top happy exists on ALL levels of your company. I am so truly thankful places like you exist. I wanted to wait quite a while before I made a review so I could really try out the product. I first used the red wine henna about 3-4 months ago on top on my already damaged, chemically red colored hair. (I waited over a month after using chemical dye)My only concern is that two weeks later, my hair still bleeds a lot in the shower (it seems to be fading very slightly each time, no biggie, I expected it). But what I don’t like is that my wet hair stains anything it touches. I prefer to let my hair air-dry, so laying my head on a pillow while still wet is now off-limits or I have a big orange stain on my pillowcase. Maybe most people blow dry their hair, but I prefer to go to bed with it damp, so it’s definitely been an inconvenience that I did not expect :/ grams body quality henna (I’ve read that the general rule of thumb is 100 grams for short hair, 200 grams for collar-length hair, 300 grams for shoulder-length hair, and 500 grams for waist-length hair) I have used this (wine red) henna exclusively for nearly 7 years. My hair is healthy, the color is beautiful, and I don’t have to worry about weird chemical reactions. That said, I’ve listed some pointers below that have been helpful over the years with this product: In many Muslim countries, the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet are decorated in beautifully intricate patterns for celebrations like Eid al Fitr, Eid al Adha, and marriage ceremonies.
