The trailers do an excellent job of concealing the twists, but the twists are all easy to see well ahead of time. John Ratzenberger, having appeared in every Pixar film to date, was the only American voice actor in Brave; all other voice actors were British.

Raphael (Johnny Depp, who also wrote and directed the film) and his family live in a small town just above the poverty line. Despite its PG rating, the film's Disney XD airings blur out the comical nudity, due to inappropriate material for a television broadcast. Merida takes Elinor up to her room, where she rolls off her bed and Merida discovers that her mother has transformed into a bear.

In her more childish qualities, she's like her father: an overgrown warrior child who also happens to be King. She'll have none of it as she'd much rather ride off on her own and perfect her archery skills than sit at home and be a proper Princess. The film's voice cast features Kelly Macdonald, Julie Walters, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson, and Robbie Coltrane.There are more than 100 unique hair/facial hair combinations used in Brave for human characters and animals. While in the forest, Elinor suddenly acts as if she's about to attack Merida but soon recovers as Merida remarks that her mother is turning into a true bear.
