About this deal

Tip: Try to shoot in 'P' mode if you can, as the 'i-Enhance' color profile in Auto mode is over-the-top, to say the least. The wide-angle 25mm-equivalent view the TG-6 provides inevitably delivers a slight fisheye effect when shooting close up at this widest setting, while we found that in particularly bright and sunny conditions images are close to overexposure, with a loss of highlight detail.

Its waterproof, drop-proof, crushproof and freeze-proof qualities aside, on first inspection the TG-6 doesn’t offer a massive amount more than those non-toughened compacts of old, the kind that smartphones gradually wiped out. The rest of the navigation pad has direct access to different controls, again which is sometimes dependent on the shooting mode you’re in. The up button controls exposure compensation, while the left button can be used to bring up the aperture control when in aperture priority (then you use the up and down buttons to move between the given apertures). The right button gives you the different flash modes to choose from, while the down button accesses drive mode, or the timer options. It's also worth noting that the flash/LED is surprisingly practical on the TG-6. The flash can be manually controlled, in 18 increments from full power down to 1/64, and the LED lamp offers more natural looking light or fill if you don't need as much power.

It really shows that compacts have reached their limits, and that progress for the TYGs have been extremely slow, although quite good-looking!

That's why many people here miss the point of that camera : it has a great "fun factor" , you can take it anywhere and don't have to be afraid to leave it in the hands of children. And IQ is good enough to look at the pictures many years from now and remember nice memories. Pro Capture mode saves photos before and after the shutter release is pressed, to help you capture the right moment Tough cameras, Oly and other brands, show mushy details that look really bad even without enlarging, specially in foliage and other fine structures. Alexis D, it's pretty ridiculous of you to call anyone else's comments ridiculous without actually doing the research yourself on which phone camera is objectively "best". In the end, it’s not about the technical specs of a camera, but what those technical specs let us do as creative people and photographers. this made sense , the nifty 50s of those film days were good, fast, small, and cheap ... i fell in love with the helicoid action of machined brass focus mechanisms then. Choose an ISO of 100. Choose an aperture of f18. This will effectively choke out the light and force the TG-6 to slow down the shutter speed to let more light in. The slow shutter speed will produce a silky waterfall.

There's a burst capture mode, supporting speeds up to 20fps for very short durations, about 9 shots. It will keep going, but drops to about 6fps. It's still useful for capturing short bursts of action, and you can set the burst rate to a lower speed if you'd like. UC-92 Lithium Ion Battery Charger to fully charge the Tough camera battery LI-92B using an USB port in approx. 2.5 hours. Introductory Offer Nikon could not even manage to get their DL 18mm 1" camera in production and not waterproof and without the folded lens to complicate things. The Olympus Tough TG-6 builds on the success of the TG-5, with a handful of small improvements to that camera's already capable spec sheet.Where the TG-5 only had one underwater white balance mode, the TG-6 has three, for shallow, mid-depth and deep water. Two additional underwater shooting modes were added: macro and microscope. What stands out? So basically everyone using a camera below 20 feet is going to be shooting an big sensored ILC in a case. The thing is, if I lose or break my camera (hardly likely) on abeach or up a mountain I still have my phone. If you use a smartphone for photos and lose or break it, you're stuffed.
